Wellfield students proudly achieve GCSE results above the national average for the third consecutive year.
A track record of success
Wellfield School is celebrating another excellent set of GCSE results, continuing a strong three-year trend of outcomes above the national average.
The achievements of the Class of 2026 reflect the ambition, resilience and determination shown by students throughout their time at Wellfield. Results remained strong across the curriculum, with many students securing the grades needed to progress confidently to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and employment.
Particularly encouraging are the outcomes achieved by Wellfield’s most vulnerable students. Students facing disadvantage, those with special educational needs and disabilities, and children who have experienced significant barriers to their education have once again achieved above the national average. These results demonstrate the impact of the school’s inclusive approach, high expectations and carefully targeted pastoral and academic support.
Headteacher, Louise Colquhoun, said:
‘We are incredibly proud of every student receiving their results today. These achievements are the result of sustained hard work from our young people, supported by the commitment of their families and the exceptional dedication of our staff.
To have secured outcomes above the national average for three consecutive years is a significant achievement. However, we are particularly proud that this success extends to our most vulnerable students. At Wellfield, inclusion means ensuring that every child is known, supported and challenged to achieve their potential, regardless of their circumstances or the barriers they may face.’
Wellfield School would like to thank its students, parents, carers and staff as well as the governors and wider school community for their continued contribution to another successful year.
The Class of 2026 leaves Wellfield with the school’s values supported by the qualifications and confidence to take their next step.
Our Trust values of resilience, respect, collaboration, inclusion and ambition are visible throughout these results. They are not simply words; they are qualities demonstrated by our students and staff every day.
