CA6 is celebrating another year of continued improvement
CA6 is celebrating another year of continued improvement, with 22% of all A Level grades awarded at the highest grades of A* or A.
We are delighted with this year’s results, which represent another significant step forward for CA6 and reflect the continued improvement taking place across the academy.
These results are the culmination of an enormous amount of hard work, commitment and determination from our students, supported throughout their studies by our dedicated staff and their families. We are incredibly proud of everything our young people have achieved.
Particularly pleasing is the improving picture across the Sixth Form. Outcomes have strengthened considerably, with improvements across a wide range of subjects and many individual students achieving exceptional results. This success reflects the increasingly high expectations, strong teaching and personalised support that now characterise our Sixth Form.
Among the many excellent individual achievements, special congratulations go to:
- Charlie, who achieved A*s in Mathematics and Further Mathematics, alongside As in Computer Science and Physics. Charlie is heading to Durham University to study Aeronautical Engineering
- Nora, who achieved an A* in her Extended Project Qualification, As in English Literature and Religious Studies, and a B in Mathematics. Nora is heading to Edinburgh University to study Philosophy.
- Ellen, who achieved an A* in her Extended Project Qualification, As in English Language and Business, and a B in Geography. Ellen is planning on doing a Degree Level Apprenticeship in Business.
- Jessie, who achieved As in Art and Mathematics, alongside a B in Physics. Jessie is heading to Durham University to study Engineering.
- Annabella, who achieved a Distinction* in Health and Social Care, a Distinction in Sport and a B in Sociology.
These exceptional achievements are thoroughly deserved and reflect the students’ talent, ambition and sustained commitment throughout their Sixth Form studies.
Behind every grade is an individual story. Our students have demonstrated tremendous resilience, ambition and determination throughout their time at Consett Academy. Their achievements will now enable them to progress to an exciting range of destinations, including university, higher and degree apprenticeships, further training and employment.
We would like to thank our Sixth Form team, teaching staff and support staff for everything they have done for our students. Their commitment, care and determination to secure the very best outcomes for every young person have been outstanding.
Most importantly, congratulations to the Class of 2026. They should be enormously proud of what they have achieved. It has been a privilege to have them as part of the Consett Academy community, and we wish every one of them the very best as they begin the next stage of their lives.
These results give us further confidence in the direction of travel at Consett Academy and provide another strong foundation on which to build. We remain ambitious for our Sixth Form and determined to ensure that outcomes continue to improve year after year.
